The Ladybug’s Styling Experiment in Florence: Vintage-styling KNAGUI at Officina Vintage in Florence

When in Florence, a couple of vintage shops were on my visit-list; one of those was Officina Vintage, one of my favorites in town! I visited both shops of via del Giglio 41 and Borgo degli Albizi 85 during my visit in March 2011, so I decided to meet Paolo Becheri, one of the owners, just to take some pictures and talk vintage!

TLC Paolo, Officina Vintage is an institution in Florence! Every time that I come here, I find faithful and usual customers and many tourists hunting vintage gems. Tell us more about your story and how it all began!
PB: Officina Vintage came from the passion of three friends for vintage, and from the desire of doing something new in this field. We wanted to create the shop that we were looking for: a shop where we could find EVRYTHING that a vintage lover could need, from casualwear…

Soul Sunday with KNAGUI: The Great Spider Man…

kNatural Light Photography

the_great_gatsby_movie-wideThe other night, The Ladybug and I decided to go to the cinema to the The Great Gatsby… in Italian.  Io non parlo o capito Italiano bene, but still… here’s my review of the film.

We arrived a few minutes late because we stopped to get something to eat so I’m not quite sure if Peter Parker was in a mental institution as he told the story or if he was just an eccentric author. Either way; I never saw Spider Man, so I think he had amnesia about his super powers and forgot he was merely a freelance photographer and not a journalist.

Anyway, Peter spent the first part of the movie tracking the villain with the blue pinky ring.  Now this guy went by the name “The Great Gatsby.” He was filthy rich.  He was a member of the Illuminati.  It was obvious because he liked to play…

The Ladybug is Gatsby in the Rain: The Ever Illusive Spring of 2013

kNatural Light Photography

Maybe it was the rain or the influence that The Great Gatsby had on me, but today, as Spring seems late to blossom, I decided to go to a ’30s/’40s inspired outfit mixing new and vintage pieces.

I started with this lovely blue cape coat from Max&Co that I bought on sale this winter, but it’s perfect for this middle season weather. I paired it with a silk dress from Topshop that I bought in their London boutique on Oxford Street some years ago.

The retro inspired hat is a lovely handmade creation from Pippi the Milliner and it adds the real “Gatsbian” style to the outfit! I am also wearing grey suede Dolce & Gabbana pumps and an original ’40s clutch of the same color.

The Ladybug Blooms: Rainydays and Mondays Will Not Get Me Down!

kNatural Light Photography

TLC_7285 It has been a week, but things haven’t changed that much in Milan… there’s still the same rainy weather with a few hot and steamy days between. I really wonder if a proper summer is coming this year because it seems the rain won’t stop falling. With that said, I am sorry that I can’t surprise you with a proper summerish outfit. Bbut as you can see, even though the days keep calling for tights, at least I try to make it stylish as I become the Spring flower! TLC_7277TLC_7294 Today I am wearing a lovely John Zack white lace dress that I bought some years ago, after being inspired by Alexa Chung wearing one a long time ago! I paired it with a preppy thrifted oversized jacket from Humana Vintage originally from Luisa Spagnoli. TLC_7280TLC_7293 I decided to wear my Burberry patent ankle boots (a real bargain on Ebay!) and my…
